The complete MLOps curriculum

Every skill an MLOps engineer needs to own production ML systems โ€” end to end.

The MLOps discipline covers eight distinct engineering domains. The specialization maps one course to each domain, in the sequence you’d encounter them building and operating a real ML system. Each course can be taken alone. Together they form a complete, structured qualification.

โ‘

ML System Foundations

The AI/ML landscape, the full MLOps lifecycle, the tooling ecosystem, and the career paths of the engineers who operate ML systems. Start here if you’re new to the field or need a structured overview.

โ‘ก

Python for ML Operations

The Python skills MLOps engineers actually use โ€” file I/O, serialization, logging, testing, NumPy, Pandas โ€” explained in MLOps contexts, not as a generic programming course.

โ‘ข

ML Algorithm Operational Knowledge

How each model family behaves in production โ€” resource profiles, latency characteristics, drift patterns, and failure modes โ€” for the engineer who runs them, not the researcher who builds them.

โ‘ฃ

Model Lifecycle Management

Experiment tracking, model registry, promotion gates, serving patterns, drift monitoring, retraining triggers, and rollback runbooks โ€” from first experiment to last incident.

โ‘ค

CI/CD Automation for ML

Data CI, training CI, model packaging, registry promotion, deployment pipelines, and safe rollouts โ€” replacing manual ML deployment rituals with automated, validated pipelines.

โ‘ฅ

Data Engineering for ML

Ingestion, versioning, feature stores, validation gates, label management, and LLM training data โ€” treating data with the same engineering rigour as code.

โ‘ฆ

ML Observability & Monitoring

Metrics, logs, traces, drift detection, Grafana dashboards, alert routing, and LLM-specific observability โ€” full visibility into what production ML systems are actually doing.

โ‘ง

ML Security & Compliance

Access control, supply chain security, LLM guardrails, EU AI Act, GDPR, NIST AI RMF compliance, fairness checks, and incident response โ€” keeping ML systems safe, auditable, and trusted.

Engineers who build the full portfolio now are positioned to have their work recognized as the accreditation process matures.

๐ŸŽ“ Individual certificates along the way Each of the 8 core courses awards its own certificate immediately on completion โ€” you don’t have to wait until Course #8 to start sharing your progress. Each one is shareable to LinkedIn and your CV.

Is this specialization right for you?

Built for engineers who want to own ML systems in production โ€” not just one part of them

The specialization is designed for engineers who work with ML systems professionally โ€” or are moving into roles where they will. You don’t need a data science background. You need engineering discipline and a willingness to own the full operational stack.

โš™๏ธ
DevOps Engineers moving into MLOps
Transfer your skills to the ML production context
You already know CI/CD, infrastructure, and monitoring. The specialization teaches you how those skills extend to ML-specific needs โ€” model registries, training pipelines, drift monitoring, and ML compliance โ€” so you can move into MLOps roles with genuine authority rather than transferring surface-level DevOps patterns.
โ†’ Courses #4 and #5 are particularly high-value entry points for experienced DevOps engineers.
๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ
Platform & Infrastructure Engineers
Design infrastructure that serves ML correctly
Feature stores, model artifact storage, GPU scheduling, observability for ML services, and compliance-driven access control โ€” production ML infrastructure has requirements that standard platform engineering doesn’t anticipate. The specialization gives you the ML context to make the right infrastructure decisions.
โ†’ Courses #6, #7, and #8 are highest-value for platform engineers supporting ML teams.
๐Ÿ’ป
Software Engineers supporting ML teams
Become the engineer who makes ML reliable
You write the code that ML models run in. The specialization teaches you the engineering decisions that determine whether those systems are reproducible, observable, and maintainable โ€” from data contracts and CI pipelines through to security controls and post-mortem processes.
โ†’ The full core path gives you end-to-end ownership of every layer of a production ML system.
๐Ÿ“‹
Technical Leads & Engineering Managers
Lead ML engineering teams with technical depth
Promotion gate criteria, SLO definitions for ML services, compliance control mappings, security runbook standards โ€” the specialization gives you the technical vocabulary and framework to lead ML engineering teams with clarity and authority, not just delegate upward.
โ†’ The specialization gives you the same technical grounding as the engineers you lead, across every domain they work in.

What you need before starting:

โœ“ Recommended baseline
โœ“ Working knowledge of Linux terminal and Git
โœ“ Basic Python familiarity (Course #2 will fill any gaps)
โœ“ Familiarity with software engineering concepts (CI/CD, containers, APIs)
โœ“ Professional context where ML systems are relevant to your work
โœ— You do NOT need
โœ— Data science or ML model training experience

Got questions?

Frequently asked questions

Three core courses are available now: Course #1 โ€” MLOps Fundamentals, Course #2 โ€” Python for MLOps, and Course #3 โ€” Machine Learning Algorithms for MLOps. The optional Advanced Python for MLOps course from the Advanced Track is also available now. Courses #4 through #8 and Advanced ML Algorithms are in development and will release step by step.
Each course is designed to build on the previous one, so the numbered order is strongly recommended for the core path. That said, engineers with existing MLOps experience can assess their background against each course’s prerequisites and start where it makes sense. If you’re experienced with CI/CD but new to MLOps, you might start with Course #1 for orientation and then skip ahead โ€” each course page lists its prerequisites clearly. The Advanced Track courses require their specific prerequisites (Course #2 for Advanced Python, Course #3 for Advanced ML Algorithms) but can otherwise be taken alongside any core course.
The 8-course core path covers the complete MLOps discipline โ€” every domain that production ML systems require, from model lifecycle through security and compliance. Completing all 8 earns the Specialization Certificate. The Advanced Track (2 optional courses) goes deeper into specific domains โ€” Advanced Python patterns for production ML code, and the advanced algorithm families (Transformers, time series, recommenders, probabilistic models) that senior MLOps engineers operate. The Advanced Track is not required for the certificate but is valuable for engineers working at senior and lead level.
Courses release in numbered order as they pass our quality review โ€” we don’t publish launch dates until a course is confirmed ready. Each course page for the coming-soon courses has a waitlist form where you can register to be notified the moment it goes live. Newsletter subscribers receive launch notifications before any public announcement, along with subscriber pricing at launch.
No. The specialization is designed for engineers who operate ML systems โ€” not for data scientists who build them. You need a software engineering background (Linux terminal, Git, basic programming) and ideally some Python familiarity (Course #2 covers what you need). You don’t need to understand how to train ML models โ€” the courses teach you how to run and manage them, which is a different skill set.
The full specialization is self-paced with no deadlines. Engineers who study consistently (a few hours per week) typically work through each course over 3โ€“6 weeks. The full 8-course path is a 6โ€“12 month commitment at a reasonable pace. You have 2 years of access to each course you enrol in (extension available), so you’re not racing a timer. The specialization is designed to be built over time alongside your career, not completed in a boot camp sprint.
The MLOps Specialization Certificate is awarded when you complete all 8 core courses. Nubes Academy is actively developing university accreditation partnerships โ€” the intent is for this credential to qualify as a recognized professional certification, not just a collection of digital badges. Individual course certificates are awarded immediately on completing each course and are shareable to LinkedIn without waiting for the full specialization to be done.
Yes. Team licenses for 5โ€“20 engineers are available for each course, with a manager progress dashboard and kickoff session. If you’re planning to enrol your full team across multiple courses or the complete specialization, contact [email protected] for group pricing across the curriculum.
Yes. Subscribe to the newsletter to receive subscriber pricing on every new course launch โ€” you don’t have to commit to anything upfront. When a new course goes live, newsletter subscribers get notified first and receive a discounted price off the public launch price. You can also join the waitlist on each individual coming-soon course page to register your specific interest.
